1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Bill Helper application (the "App"), a service provided by J&N Web Design, LLC ("Company," "we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you") and J&N Web Design, LLC.

2. Description of Service

Bill Helper is a personal finance management tool designed to help users track their bills, income, categorize expenses, and set budgets. The App generates financial summaries and reports based on the data you input. The App is provided "as is" and is intended for informational and organizational purposes only.

3. User Accounts and Google Sign-in

  • Account Creation: To use Bill Helper, you must sign in using your Google account. By doing so, you authorize us to collect and store your Google ID, email address, name, and avatar URL, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when entering your financial data into the App.

4. Account Syncing (Shared Access)

  • Optional Feature: Bill Helper includes an optional feature that allows you to link your account to another user's account using a unique share code.
  • Data Sharing: If you choose to link your account, you explicitly consent to the other linked user having full view and management access to all your financial data (bills, income, categories, budgets, overrides, skips) within the App. Conversely, if you are the host user, you will have access to the linked user's data.
  • Unlinking: You can unlink your account at any time through the App's settings, which will immediately revoke shared access.
  • Responsibility: We are not responsible for any actions taken by a linked user, nor for any loss or misuse of data that occurs as a result of your decision to link accounts. You assume all risks associated with using the account syncing feature.

5. User Data and Content

  • Ownership: You retain full ownership of all financial data (bills, income, categories, budgets, overrides, skips) that you enter into the Bill Helper App ("User Data").
  • License to Us: You grant J&N Web Design, LLC a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your User Data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the functionality of the Bill Helper App.
  • No Financial Advice: The information provided by Bill Helper is for organizational purposes only and does not constitute financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates these Terms, including but not limited to:

  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the App or its related systems or networks.
  • Using the App to store or process illegal, fraudulent, or harmful data.
  • Interfering with the operation of the App or any user's enjoyment of the App.
  • Circumventing, disabling, or otherwise interfering with security-related features of the App.
  • Misrepresenting your identity or financial information.

7. Intellectual Property

The Bill Helper App, including its design, code, graphics, and features, is the intellectual property of J&N Web Design, LLC and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App solely for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • No Warranties: The Bill Helper App is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
  • Accuracy: While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of any information or calculations within the App. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of your financial data.
  • Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, J&N Web Design, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the App; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the App; (iii) any content obtained from the App; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.
  • Total Liability: Our total liability to you for any damages arising out of or related to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid, if any, to us for using the App during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless J&N Web Design, LLC, its affiliates, and their respective officers, agents, partners, and employees, from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and expenses, made by any third party due to or arising out of: (a) your User Data; (b) your use of the App; (c) your breach of these Terms; (d) any breach of your representations and warranties set forth in these Terms; (e) your violation of the rights of a third party, including but not limited to intellectual property rights; or (f) any overt harmful act toward any other user of the App with whom you connected via the App.

10. Termination

  • By You: You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, your financial data will be removed from our active databases.
  • By Us: We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of West Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page within the App or through other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. You are advised to review these Terms periodically for any changes.
